For those of you are tired of replacing those cheap nylon bushings that Vermeer uses in the hydraulic rams, I have a part # for replacement caged needle bearings. Timken # B1612 ( 4 required ) . These are direct replacements for the back and forth swing. The up and downs are Part # B1616 ( 2 Required ).

I am going to drill my pins and add grease fittings, however for now I just greased them up and installed them. I bought all 6 bearings from U.S. Bearings and Drives through Amazon for $50.28 including freight.

How are those bearings working out for you?

I went a similar route, but used Aluminum nickel bronze to make
bushings. then drilled for grease zerks. Only 1 season on them and seem to be as new.

I did drill the pins and add grease fittings. Installed them in Jan. 2008 so thats all most 2 years and they are starting to loosen up so I will be replacing them soon.
