Any feed back on vermeer's sc60tx good or bad !!!
Picked up an 06 60tx at my local Vermeer dealer as a repo for a ridiculously low price. I'm not even gonna say how much because no one would believe me anyway. it has 770 hrs. I had to put a few dozen hundred dollar bills into it to make it functional but after running it I have no complaints except the fact that there is absolutely no subtlety between the tracks and any grass no matter how easy you move it. but It grinds like a beast and begs for more. I may never start my 252 again... heck with their grass.. :) I haven't detracked mine like some people say. but I can see it happen and you need to be cautious. I've been very close on several occasions as the mulch seems to like it in between the tracks and the steel..
When I purchased mine, the clutch was blown apart, the drive shaft was sheared in half and the bearings in the lower gear box were totally gone and the upper trans needed seals. Also had to replace 1 track and the display control panel. Everything was relatively easy to repair. I was able to perform all the repairs in the yard.
almost looked like they put the wheel into concrete and walked away when they knew it was getting repo'd.
for the record.. the clutch disk has to come from Vermeer. the pressure plate is same as older ford pickups.
Ground travel speed sucks which is to be expected because it's Vermeer. But it's power and productivity more than make up for it.

Thanks for the information. I can,t get one here in the uk until february at the earlyest from the dealers so might look at shipping one over. I have owned and operated both the carlton sp7015trx deutz and kubota powered and the new 114hp cat engined banbit 2900t. All have there good and bad point,s.
The Carlton sp7015trx deutz powered machine is a great package with a revolution wheel.....but the kubota powered machine has a differant tracked undercarrage witch is very good....but is 3" taller than the earlyer model (chermack track base)...so they have lost 3" cutting depth yet it,s addvertived as cutting 15" deep in when in fact it,s only 12".....the combonation of the razor cut wheel and 66hp kubota is great for cutting preformance....the Bandit 2900t also has it,s issues....you might think that having almost twise the hp (114) you would be forgiven for thinking it would be twise as produtive!!!!
but the hydraulic system used to drive the revolution wheel lose,s about 25% of the engine power.....plus it drink more fuel....that said I still think it,s a bit faster than the Carlton...The Bandit,s cutting capacity is great 26" deep 74" slew.... I built my own 80hp grinder in the end witch worked very well but fooleshly I sold it.... you can view it at www.baileyforestryengineering.co.uk in are case studies....I don,t understand why Vermeer never put there flag ship sc1152 on track.......
