I was looking for used "Tree Frog" spades and found a Vermeer TS-20 advertised for sale for $2900. They started out at 4500 a few months back, based on what I can see.
Vermeer is not very forthcoming with info for non owners, I signed up at their site as they offered manuals, only to find they were only available to owners.
Clearly this model is hydraulic and has 4 spade/rams and a control panel. Lots of hoses, but mixed indications of how the hydraulic power is provided, from the tractor pump or its own driven by PTO. One might think this sort of basic info would be commonly available. My Kubota is only has a 9GPM pump, but does have functional rear PTO.
It's a "maybe I need one, seeing I don't have one" sort of thing. I have a lot of smaller trees I'd like to relocate.
Any knowledge sources for how these work? Other equipment or vendors?
