CaseyForrest, as per his ad. It has 59 hours on it, splits 5 "face" per hour so that's 295 "face" cords so I assume 98 full cord. What's selling price of a full cord there, $200? If so then he got $19,666. for the wood. Says he paid for the machine in that 59 hours? Interesting. I've seen several of these but have never run one. They look to be extremely slow to me and resplits are necessary on bigger wood. I would have to run one with my wood before I ever considered buying one.

Full cord prices are going to be based on face cord since that's the majority of what CL adds list... Between $150 and $240 for a full cord.....

There is an optional 6 way for the wedge.... But I do agree that resplits would be necessary for bigger wood. Unless one is feeding an outdoor....

I have watched one in use (at a show) Very fast splitter. Saw speed depends on your saw. Does a nice job of pushing splits up and off the ramp into whatever trailer or bin you have (no conveyor). Winch does an okay job pulling logs in and will pull from within a larger pile. The downside is unless you have very long logs, you spend much more time dragging out the cable and hooking up the next log, than you do actually processing the log.

I have a friend bought one last year (used) and he says the same thing. Works good with long straight logs. Not so good with twisted or crooked pieces, and short logs are a pain. He still likes it better than cutting on a pile then using a separate splitter and he does not have access to a tractor or loader with forks. The cutting position is much more ergonomic and the pivoting saw holder takes a load off your back. He got a smokin deal on his from someone who moved up so he's happy overall.

We're using a Wallenstein high end splitter - same basic design without the ramp and cutting station - It's a kick-ass splitter and works great.

There are other vendors out there with similar designs.

For our processor build - we're going with a log lift, not a cable pull.

Saw 2 at the Paul bunyon show last weekend! One dealer that had wouldn't come up to anybody that was looking at it,weird! There was alot of people looking at it. the other dealer was very helpful and not pushy at all.

I have a 835 with the saw mount and 6 way wedge. Love it compared to separate saw and rounds on a splitter. I bought in Canada when the C$ was .66 cents so I paid 10,800k out the door delivered to NC with saw mount and 6 way wedge plus standard 4 way wedge. Any wood you would need to resplit would need to be resplit with whatever machine you are using, but with the autocycle valve, resplits are simple. No need for a conveyor since the outfeed chute works great. Has a dump valve on the return stroke so a pretty fast splitter for 25 ton. Selling point for me is that it will handle 24" wood which no other processor within 4-6x the price will handle since I see a lot of 18"+ wood, crooked or straight. Plus no need to have another heavy machine- I use a logrite atv arch and a Polaris Ace to get logs. Or if can get the unit within a 100 feet or so of the cutting area, just use the winch to pull the log to the machine (add cable and chokers...) Really great if you can have 2 people- one saw/splitting and someone else with a choker on the next log ready to pull, and then pulling while you do the last cut or so. Would be really trick if there were 2 winches so you could pull one while processing the other- hmmmm, maybe need to add an electric winch....also thinking about how to mount a hydraulic saw and have it be hydraulically controlled. Anyway, that is a good price and I have been happy with mine for a small operation. It has about 1/2 paid for itself and I've only had it since June and do wood in my free time (It has processed all the wood needed to pay for itself, just haven't sold it yet- having a tropical fall thus far in NC this year).
