YUP... Like that around here for sure!!! Offered to slab some big oak for a neighbor just to get it gone and he said he would rather process it for firewood and sell it for 130 a cord. Meanwhile he is bent over complaining about his back thinking I am trying to take advantage of him. The oak was split at tha base and not perfect, also yard trees. I even offered to buck it up for free and he said he could do it with his smallish saw.

Well, I hope he doesn't hurt himself too bad, and I will be able to sell all that oak for 130 a cord!!!

that vid has been making the rounds on the sawmilling forums. i finally watched it. pretty spot on really. you know it's funny, but folks apply this same logic to all sorts of different things. when it's theirs and it's for sale it's worth a million bucks but they wouldn't pay a hundred for it. people just forget to put on their thinking caps when those dollar signs light up

Wow, That is so funny but way too true. I had a lady me that she called the lumber store and that walnut is selling for $9 - $11 a BF so I should be able to pay at least $7.00 in log form. I really hate arm chair experts. Oh well, sometimes you just have to shake your head and walk away.
