I have garage sale special 371xp that runs great but has a cracked case on the recoil side. Looking for either a complete parts saw(or mostly complete) or just lower end. It took on a skidder and the skidder won. I thought I'd just run it with my redneck fixes but it runs so well I'd like to make it "whole".

I believe the following are compatible; 371, 372, 365 & Jonnyred 2071, 2171, 2065, 2165. So if you have one these in a burned up condition or basket case or just a decent case, please PM me. Thanks for looking.

I can do either. My left half(recoil side) case is broken where the serial # plate should be and small ear on lower side that is supposed to contact the rear handle-tank assembly. This doesn't do much for the AV system:) These things do not really work well for a skidder wheel chock as someone found out. The rod & crank are good as far as I can tell, so I don't really need the whole assembly but that sure would be a much easier swap. If you have just a good case I can deal with that too, will just have to remember how to split and reassemble a case. Haven't done one them since my dirtbike days.

Okay I'll look and see what I have for cases splitting isn't hard and in this area good cranks are getting rarer due to most guys running the winter screen filters in the summer with the expected fine dirt contamination destroying the big end bearings. I am not yet set up for rebuilding cranks again but if you really needed one I could do a one off

I have a couple 371 saws over at dad's. They all have god bottom ends, but it will be this weekend before I can get over there to see what all is left. Let me know if you need a complete bottom end

Thanks for the reply Stang. PEST may have what I need, will confirm tomorrow, so I gotta give him the first opportunity. Buuttttt, a complete lower does sound like an easier rebuild. You guys are making it tough on me. I was expecting to get no hits on this post for some reason.:dizzy:
