Hello All,

I'm looking to hire an experienced climber/foreman for tree removal in the San Bernardino forest in Southern California. These are big ponderosa pines located next to houses and power lines. I need a real pro who has experience with skid steers, loaders, cranes, and other such equipment. Must also know how to supervise crew and talk to clients.

I am a businessman, not an arborist. The person I hire will be more partner than employee, someone I can look to for expertise and trust. I am can pay very, very well for the right person -- because I know he's worth it.

I'm having the tougest time finding the right person. If you're interested, or if you know of someone, or if you know of good job resources (bulletin boards, etc.) -- please let me know. I'm open to all suggestions.

Thanks so much.

When I say very, very good pay, I mean whatever it takes to hire the right guy. I'm happy to pay well over market salary rates, give equity, benefits, provide relocation assistance, etc.

In order to do that, you need someone with business running skills.

personnel skills help too. More than fishing skills. There are many of us who are qualified here. If he really wanted a QUALIFIED person, money would be disclosed, at least a range.

Well, what about the $150,000??

Surfs up??

Why would you want to do that? He made a seriouse offer on the site at my request.

I'm hopping to eventually have a "job openings" page here that could bring people to the site.

If employers get nothing but guff for comming here, none will ever come here.

Grow up:rolleyes:

Job page is a good idea. I am always looking for motivated professional people looking for a CAREER

I think the "guff" comes from the fact that so many of us are self-employed. One of the top traits of a self employed person is that they make bad employees.

Other than that, there is no smart a$$ shortage here.

I think a lot of us who have hunted for jobs with "top pay" know that usually means you call and meet with them, with the promise of good pay, just to find that to them $12hr is "good pay".

If the pay is that good, the pay range would be listed.

Listing a pay range could be difficult for an employer. I have hired many climbers that say they are highly skilled, have 10 years experiance just to find out they have 1 year experience 10 times over. Unfortunetly having just climbing skills has a limited pay range. To make the big bucks one needs leadership skills.

Yeah, why would you run him off. He is trying to make a valid business, hiring somebody that would give him the posibility of having less problems. Who needs head cases? If he was hiring for $150k (wouldn't happen) I think you might be out. It's always good to listen first and talk later. He has never put a dollar figure here. I think that shouldn't be here and should be based on the individual. Good luck Dlazer!!
