anyone have any recommendation's for summertime boots ? ones i have now have a waterproof liner and non insulated which i like in winter ,the non waterproof ,non insulted must be cooler in summer ? or does the waterproof part not make a difference ? i see some are goretex waterproof ,i haven't tried those see if any cooler then ones with waterproof liners ,i have chippewa 9 inch loggers now ,not too awfully hot yet ,but have the waterproof membrane ,seems like that would trap the heat in some
 
trx, the gore tex liner is hot because it also has a layer of foam to protect it. it gets hot and humid here so I wear plain leather in the summer. currently wearing Carolina usa made loggers. I have worn the chipawas, they are good too. whatever brand, usa fits better imo.
 
caulked flip flops lol this years ultimate logging look..........all the top fashion houses have em lol
 
I personally can't stand any boots with a liner of any sort, all my boots are unlined, if its cold I might wear more/thicker socks, but don't count on it. All leather is the way to go, breaths better, fits better, looks better, feels better, for water proofing just be sure to grease em up on a regular basis, which reminds me...

Ya know Hoffman boots will resole any footwear that is replaceable with a calked sole... just sayin... calked berkinstocks at the next vegan rally, or phish concert, sure would be fun to go crowd surfing with them on...
 
No difference between summer and winter wear for around here. Wool sock with unlined winter boot if I'm working. Maybe the Extratuff corks... which happen to be insulated for when it's really cold and wet. Biggest thing is fit. If you start adding more socks in cold weather your fit will be tighter and make your foot colder. Get good socks, when you try new boots at the store use a broken in sock not a new one but not a wore out one either. Having a good fitting boot will do more to keep your foot warm than one that has a too tight of fit.

Now on a personal note I hate layering socks due to slippage and the like. I have sweaty feet so in hot weather fit is important and in the winter that fit contributes to a warm foot. If you're worried about the waterproofing just grease the snot out of em. Obenaufs is the best that I've used. I've used Hubbards as well. Would be my next choice.

I prefer a tighter fit due to the fact of weak ankles. I can twist 'em very easily on flat pavement so I wear my boots tighter than I should.
 
Timberland Abington farmer boot with Vibram soles treat them with Snow Seal (beeswax)

Best boot i have used during the summer. Lots of ankle support. Pain relief in back from the soft soles. No liner. Quality leather. COMPLETELY water proof from the Snow Seal treatment. I have power washed for 6 hours straight and the only dry clothing were my socks! Expensive but you can find deals.

I also got small feet. Size 6. So unfortunately everything I buy has to be ordered and tried on when I get it. If it doesn't fit them send back and try again. Not fun. Lol. My unlined redwings size 6. Got them close to 3 years ago. KD boot guard applied to the toe after the steel started showing on the toe. Works very well.

I wear these year round. In the winter I have some liners for them as battery operated heated socks that help out when it's brrrr cold (like -20* or colder).. Years ago I got really bad frostbite in my feet and ever since then I have crap circulation so they get cold real easy. I have to sleep with socks on, otherwise my feet it keeps me up the whole night cause my feet are freezing. Even the dog won't lay on them cause they are that cold!
