This is a warning for everyone who has purchased Carlton N1C Skiptooth low profile sawchain from Baileys.

I just got a carlton N1BL skiptooth sawchain I ordered from baileys, I thought you might want to be informed about a possible safety risk.

After taking the chain out of the box and looking at it I found two places where the rivets were not properly spun and the chain looked very loose to the extent of being ready to come apart, so if you ordered this type of chain from Baileys just check the tie straps and presets and make sure they're spun on right before you use the chain.

Whether this issue is accidental or just a new guy still learning how to spin chains is anyones guess. I just want to let you all know about this ahead of time.

Thanks for the forsite.I buy Bailey's square chain all the time.I'll start looking at it more carefully now though.

Sounds like where the loop was joined at the warehouse, not factory. Baileys is a sponsor here. give them a shout and a chance to correct the problem.

Hi Oldsaw-Addict,

I appreciate the "public service" nature of your post, but agree with what Crofter has stated. Bailey`s is a sponsor of this site and should be given direct notification of this situation and an opportunity to rectify it before going public. I have no doubt that Bailey`s will correct the situation for those affected and make things right going forward. Please consider this in the future. This is not to allow Bailey`s or any other sponsor to get away with anything, but rather a courtesy to a generous host at our playground.

BTW, do you have any pictures of these defects? I`m curious to know what they look like.

Thanks, Russ

Yea, I agree with Jokers, why complain to the world before you call the company? Baileys would send you another and probably let you keep the bad one too. Or why not just fix the loose rivits and let Baileys know you had a problem so they could check it out for repeats and check out the guy putting them together. I wouldn't ????? about a company until they had the facts and a chance to make it right.
