Washing eye 2 eye friction hitch cords?

I wash my ropes when they need it, and I know others who do as well. I just never heard if there is a reason not to wash eye 2 eye cord...ie; beeline and tennex more specifically.
 
I wash mine, the same day i wash my ropes, which is if anything gets dirty to where i notice it needs washed..

pretty much, if you can feel the sand or grit in the rope or hitch, i would toss it in on sensitive slow wash, with a little bit of mild detergent, and then air dry all lines.
