Weaver leather

So i bought a weaver leather 1 ring 47" saw strap for my husqvarna 435 with a 16" bar. I wanted it because it mainly said i dont need it with my harness which is key because i use my harness only in tree. Bad news i cant figure out how it hangs off of my pants. Does anyone have a strap like this and knows how it hangs. Thanks!

If you are in a tree, it should hang off your saddle.

I'm not sure which strap you have, but you would either need to girth hitch the loop to your pants belt, or hook it to your belt with a carabiner.

Chainsaw straps are designed to be used with your saddle in the tree, they are a pain to have flopping around when on the ground. Why you would want to walk around the ground with the saw hooked to your belt slapping your leg is beyond me, but what do I know. It's not really designed for this, so you will have to get creative.
