This is commercially related because it is to inform my customers why I am better than the comp.

I am working on settin up a web page for my tree service. The domain name is/will be www.rutherfordtreeservice.com.

I am gonna have some general info on the homepage such as not spiking on trims, no topping, ect.

I want the page to look friendly, not just words goin across the screen.

So do yall know of some pic such as in Sherrills catalogs and bumperstickers that are free to post on my website.

I am gonna have a few sections of the page. They are:

Removals
Stump Grinding
Trimming
Cabling and Bracing
Pictures
Information Library
Links

Possibly a few more or less. I know that eric has a web page, who else has a personal page for there buisness, or can help me in general?

Thanks

i learned about a year ago that website pictures were held in copyright by the website owner. This info was given to me After I was originally told all website pics were free grata.

If you are interested in using pics from someone else's website, email them requesting permission in reply form, print it, and keep it. It may help too in your request to be specific as to the pictures you want. If they are unreachable via email, call them in person (which may be the best anyway). Just make sure and ask for written authorization. This covers your arse down the road.

Best of luck with your website. They take a lot of time to set up, but its amazing what Ive learned.

i'd drop our ol buddy even-younger-Nick:rolleyes: an Email for Nickrosis- Nick Crawford: [email protected]

He was offering to build sites too proffession-ally, perhaps can answer some simple questions from these haunts that he has stepped back from. He comes from an arboriculture family, arboriculture education , very active in ISA, etc.; and we wish he was still running'round'ere!

Lumberjack...

Don't feel like you have to do it all in one year either. It's better to do a good home page, and a couple of good extra pages, than 8 so-so pages.

If you don't have the Google Toolbar yet, get one, so you can see how your page rank on the little green meter starts to rise, as well as the ranks of other sites you may wish to observe. Pagerank is not everything, but it is one thing.

Meta tags are only slightly profitable anymore, but I'm keeping them in case Google or others reconsider evaluating them. Those may not be very relevant, but they do not hurt as long as the Meta tags use each word or phrase one time - not "tree, tree, tree, service, service, service"

Time for a digital camera !

I get about 1 picture out of 20 that I take that has the exposure, angle and substance that I want for my site. I delete the 19 mediocre ones and add the 1 to the growing archive.

My site has been up for about 18 months.

Try searching on Google for:

Portland tree service
Portland arborist
Portland landscape designer
Portland landscape designers
Portland tree pruning
