I had a 3-4 year old weeping willow tree blow over in a violent storm. It was "laid" over top touching the ground for a few hours before I could get home and tie it up.
My father said that they are common for the trunk to "slip" and that I should just cut it down and let regrow below the damage or take out. I tied it up about 2 months ago and it has grown another 4-6 inches.
Any hope for it without being tied? Should I try topping it to remove some over head weight?
