well now that im becoming a climber and my boss is giving me more nad more work he 'pimped' me out to a local 'woodcutting legend' (his words) who has retired at 80 after a heart attack. anyway i was deadwooding some oaks for him, at the top, dropped a big dead chunk, and it got caught in a 20 -25 ft long dead limb pointing skywards, bugger i thought, but no great problem.... well 5 mins later i heard a crack (a snapping of deadwood) then felt the limb break off and fall, felt the vibration through the tree and the rope..... really freaky but funny

oh and it rained and i burnt a hole in my cutting trousers... from the exhaust, learnt a valuable lesson there.

I guess i turn my saw off enough that it's never been a problem for me.

I have had burns on my hand from 335's and hear that there is a recall on the new (338??) ones because they are even worse with the exhaust porting right on the hands.

Dropping chunks out onto frozen ground is real neat too.:blob2:

hanging

the wasnt hanging from my belt, i was cutting with it and i was in an odd position, sorta sitting crossed legged in a croth, saw most probably too close to me, so the exhaust was about an inch above my leg, as for leaving the saw running, i'll devise a work plan and if i only have to go down the saw will stay running on my strop below my feet and i'll descend cut, descend cut and turn it off while i clamber around.....unless its a short trip
