Just got off the phone with Dean at Washington Hot Saws. I am sending him my used Stihl 025 running saw with bar and chain, and a used Husqvarna 154 SE with bar and chain (Needs top end), and $175. In return I am getting a Stihl 026 thats been worked over by him.

Mods to saw include:
Decked cylinder
Ported Exhaust
Boost ports
Put on one of his K&N type filters with a Husky intake plate and elbow
and added a Carb off of a Stihl 046
:dizzy:

This saw should be a great addition to my lineup and I am super excited about getting this saw!

I have said it before Dean is an awesome saw builder and NOBODY can touch him when it comes to customer service!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Dean!!! :blob2: :D

I wonder how many Wild Things I'd have to send him to get a modded 026?

Or maybe he could just hop up the Wild Thing.

I believe that!

He actually offered me FREE repair/weld for my broken 288xp's handle. All I have to pay for is the shipping. I didn't avail of the offer but getting such offer from a guy I don't know (and don't know me) tells me a lot.

I know it is good PR for him and might get him some business from me later...but if he goes that far to earn someones business, I guess he will go further to keep those he already have.

Maybe someday we will do business Dean!

And thank you for the offer.

Dario :)

Thanks guys I appreciate the kind words. I would like to say thanks though to the customers that keep me in business. It is so very true that they are the most important part of any business.

Ricky - this is not The Fargo saw, but built similar to it. I was going to send it out last week until I got your post and decided to tweak it just a bit more before I sent it out.

Here She is.

Ok Boston Bull: here is your Saw. A Boost Ported Stihl 026. She is not the fastest saw out there but after talking with you and knowing how you are going to use this saw I built plenty of torque into her. The log in the pictures is an Ash that has been down for about 6 months and is 16" in diameter. the time on it was not lightning fast, but 22 seconds in hard ash...I'll let you decide. Now she may not be an 044 but she is not an 025 either.

Thanks for the offer Dean. The Wild Thing actually belongs to a friend, but I've thought it would be funny to do. Kind of like all the rice boys that put a fart tube and some million-dollar rims on a base model Nissan Sentra and think they have some hot rod.

As my buddy says, "you can't polish a turd". But it can be fun trying.

Dean I am VERY happy with how that saw looks and the test run times youy posted!!!

Cant wait to get it over here on the East coast and try er out

Outstanding customer service!

I also have a great story. I ordered some modded mufflers from Dean which I got about 10 days ago. Each one had a problem of one sort or another. I emailed pictures of these glitches to Dean. He promply emailed back and told me to send them back to him. He also wrote " I can assure you that this will not happen again as this person no longer works for me. If you would like, send along one of your powerheads; I will modify it for you free of charge to make up for this total dropping of the ball. Again I am sorry for this and want to make this up to you, the best I can." I couldn't believe my eyes! I was just hoping I could get the mufflers fixed without a major hassle.. Instead, Dean acknowledged the mistakes, offered to promply replace them, and offered to give me a woods mod for free! All through email. I haven't talked to Dean on the phone yet. I returned the mufflers along with my 026! This is the most impressive customer service I have ever seen. After reading this thread I just had to tell this story. There is only one guy I'm calling for my mod saw needs: DEAN @ Washington Hot Saws. I haven't gotten my modded 026 back yet, can't wait to try it!

Sawdust, Thank you for the kind words. I do not feel they are completely deserved though as I let those muffler go out of my shop with out checking them myself. the mods are the least I could do after such a screw up on my part. I am hoping to have your saw on the bench by Thurs. Again I appologize and I hope this saw cuts a million board feet of joy. Dean @ Washington Hot Saws
