What’s ur budget ? Fast - tach , DTI TECH-TACH TT-20K, are a couple quality ones , on the higher end
I have the DTI-20k tach. Do like it but is fairly large device. About 25% larger than a stack of playing cards, or 2 cell phones laid together. Thought I use the Wire clamps option more, but don't.
If doing again would look for a more compact Tach that can put in pocket. Large layout is okay on vertical cylinder. Can hold it & front handle. But, problem on horizontal cylinder, rear sprak plug, very awkward to hold it & rear trigger handle.

Fast-Tach , as mentioned they can mount right to saw handle a gentleman on 0 P E makes a holder for them ,

I also have a, DTI TECH-TACH TT-20K. I bought it probably 10-12 years ago. I don't use it that often, but when i do it works great. In a pinch i've also used a Trail Tech TTO tach (dirtbike stuff). It more out of curiosity than necessity though.

I purchased a dirt cheap one off of Walmart (forgot the Brand & don't care to remember), pain in the ass to use.

Ended up getting an Oppama PET-304 (only for Single cylinder 2 & 4 strokes).

Cost $70, but works Great!, haven't regretted.
