I split a cord of wood today all small pine max 10'' in dia. had it sitting around thought I better do it before it gets cold only-4c here today much better than the -30 two weeks ago! Nice load of wood wish I could get some hard wood around here did get a load ash in the summer but it will take till next year to see how it burns.

We have white ash here, and I have cut it and burnt it the same day. Ash is one of those woods that doesn't need alot of seasoning.

Thanks for the info I tried to burn some last week still a bit green mind you we had a damp summer. How is it as far as fire wood goes?

Not sure if there is different Ash or not but like Layne said we can cut Ash and burn the same day. Dutch Elm gets all of our Elms, usualy much younger than the one in the pictures. Not the best firewood but lots of it around dead and standing. Good for those who get behind cutting wood, LOL

Split ash for an hour today. Milled 6 boards with the 084. Tree service is dropping 2 29" X 24' ash logs in my yard tomorow.

It makes good firewood, I use the rounds for some nightime wood.

I spent about 1/2 hour raking up bark and kindling from around the splitter and moving it to a pile to be chipped. Then I cut up, split and stacked about half a cord of locust that someone had dropped off.

8 degrees here in southern WV this morning. I let it warm up a little and then split about a cord of Red Oak I had down. Same thing tomorrow.

I got out of bed and hung out with Bubba (cranky Bubba) but not a bad day all in all!!

what i did today

i gog some time in with the chainsaw , managed to get 3 3/4 truck loads of wood cut and put into my piles to be split and then stacked (late winter or earily spring) i finished up with a large s.b.hickory which had some kinda white fungi growing inside a rotton cavity near the base. 2 truck loads of that and the other truck load was , ash, elm,and cotton, i `d say i have 3-4 more loads of the ash, elm, and cotton, i can`t complain though because i will take free wood any day :)
maybe tomorrow i`ll try to get a few pictures of my set up here
tomorrow , i`ll probally cut up a nice cherry that got blown over by the heavy wind , if not i`ll get another s.b.hickory that is half standing :chainsaw:

What I did today ?
