I started a job in Knights Ferry, trimmed a cottonwood and started a takedown of another cottonwood.

I scored a sweet biologist/arborist consulting gig for the winter weekend work. This General contractor fella wants to put the most low impact podular house throughout this Coast Redwood/ Bay/ Madrone/ Coast live oak strip of land. Low impact Extra Mile Exxtra Billable Time.

Steve, What can't we see that made you piece that tree out instead of simply felling it?

The job is for the Govt., and it says in the contract that felling of whole trees is not allowed, furthermore any large branches must be lowered using ropes and pulleys.

Leave it to the govt to come up with some wacky rule like that.

Add time, expense and the increased possibilty of injury.

Have any of you other guys run into that? I added a bunch to each tree to compensate for that and still won the bid.
