What do people think of the Stihl 032AV ?

How have they held up over time?

Thanks,

Glad you found it... but my 2c:

I once believed they were an overweight vibrating pos, but, after servicing them for a few years, I have developed a healthy respect for this fine old lady... It's spring (well, nearly) , and like every other year, the homeowners drag them out from under the bench, dust them off and try to start them with the gas they put in 5 years before. They end up in the shop, I clean out the fuel system, dig the air cleaner out of the crud (this is the worst part of the 032 design), sometimes rebuild the carb, and wrooommm, pop pop, pop... With a little TLC, good for another 20 years...

Apart from the obvious lack of safety brake on MOST models (it was available), the 032 is a fine saw that cuts pretty much like an 034. It's rock solid, starts easily, simple to fix, and can cut all day long with a 20 inch bar.

Thanks.

I'm looking for a 50cc class saw. If I can get an 026 at a good price tomorrow I'll do that, otherwise I'll go with a 032AV+Brake.

At least it won't blow away in the wind... :)
