What do you guys use to install piston rings?

You should try the ring compressor kit from baileys, it's cheap and I can put a jug on in a matter of 10 seconds
My saws are tuned and broke in and earning a living in 10 seconds, I ain't got time for this compressor thing u speak of.

I use my long gangly fingers to put the on a piston as well, I got a ring expander but it's more of a 4" bore tool, and yes that's what she said also.
 
Putting a piston in a cylinder is, in my opinion, where a clamshell engine has it over a pro engine. Some clamshell engines even have the bottom of the cylinder tapered so you don't need a ring compressor, just a little oil. I know the post isn't about this, just saying..
 
After reading this thread the OP may trott off to his parts supplier and ask for a set of fingers. When he finds out they are not in stock he's going to point out 'on AS, everybody uses their fingers'.
