Last year I bought a 385xp and had Dan Work it over. It is a fun and fast saw, but it is really too much for packing around and general fire wood cutting. I did some milling with it, but I no longer have time for that hobby. The saw is in great shape and I would guess I have less than 40-50 hours on it, how much should I expect to get for it?
Next I have to decide what to replace it with. I miss my 372!

How about a Dolmar 7900 modified by Ed. It will be as light as your 372 and outcut your 385.

That`s not a bad deal!

What is your`s worth? I couldn`t guess but I would suggest eBay.

Is your reason for that what I think it is????

Could be, what do you think my reason is? ;)

I do think that Rob could get a good return on his saw on eBay based on recent saw activity there.

I dunno, 4 or 5 hundred dollars?

Is that too high or too low a guess?

I figure a used saw is worth about half retail. If it's beat up, less, if it's pristine, then more. Saw modifications on a used saw don't seem to add or detract from its value. On one hand, it's a stronger running saw, on the other, it may have been a bad mod, or beat to heck with long hard pro hours. If the mod was great, why sell it?

Mike,
Thanks for the input. If you are correct, that the saw is only worth half of the stock price, I would keep the saw. I know that most people believe their stuff is always worth more, :dizzy: but I am trying to be realistic. :Eye:
I kind of bought it on an impulse and it is just too large to be useful to me. I did a small amount of milling with it, but no longer have the time.
I need a good firewood saw, not an old growth faller.

Thanks,

Rob

You mean I am not the only one who ever did that with a saw? :dizzy:

Rob, where in Oregon are you? Would you be interested trading for another 372xp?
