not unusual on ebay.

if i bid on something, i always check on line first to see what prices are out there, then i set my limit on ebay. i have noticed often that people get into the bidding frenzy and just keep bidding away and end up paying more for a used product than what you can buy it new for.

then factor in the shipping costs...lol.

that thing had 22 bids. check out the bidding history....v***v bumped it up pretty good.

The whole auction thing is outta control. I quit going to the local estate/farm one's here because of the same thing. Even Craigslist pirces are going up.....I guess this "recession" is really taking hold....

yep...i scan craigslist now and then. same thing: some people ask prices for their junk as if it were new.

but, i guess people are dumb enough to pay those prices thinking they're getting some kind of deal.

or, maybe people just have too much money.

You might be on to something.

When times are hard, people bargain shop more than in flush times. Look at Wal-Mart and McD's versus their higher priced competition. Ditto with auctions, 2nd hand stores, etc.

People still need stuff (or think they do); they just don't have the ability or willingness to pay.

Having said that, I can't use the above observations to explain the price in the OP.

So I'll see your  and raise ya one  .
