That is just what I have done. I finally decided I'd buy the Alaskan MK-III C3 36" because I liked the idea of having the oiler on the far side and the helper handle. Price is $685 at the Granberg site so I went to ebay where I found the Mark III C3 with a 394 Husqvarna for $650. Same price [essentially] as the mill alone and keeps my Stihl ms660 free for blocking out those really big carvings.

Sounds like a good starting combo.
I'm looking forward to seeing the product.

You do nice work

I really like the bear bench. What kind of dog is that in the picture.? He looks huge

Bull Heeler?

That is a Blue Heeler / American Bulldog mix. Not quite as large as his head makes him look ;) He is a very friendly guy with the personality of a clown but takes his job, of guarding the yard, very seriously.

I'm doing some rock sampling in Arizona right now but as soon as I get back, I"ll be making my next bench...

The next bench

Used my last cedar slab on this bench so need to get going with my Alaskan mill... This Coffee Bear is 4' tall and can hold a large coffee mug. Bench seat is 50" long and held in place by a loosely fitted 1 1/4" dowel.
