I was wondering what type to use the husky oil is semisythetic but I have heard you shouldn't use synthetic oil for breking an engine in. I am a believer in the hard breakin under varying throdlle and good loads to seat the rings properly. What do you guys think?

Mix the oil at manufacturers reccomendation and run the hell out of it. Go cut wood. I have never "broke-in" a saw. Just didn't ALAP any stumps the first few tanks of fuel. Seriously... just go cut wood.

Stihl says you can use their full synth oil during the so-called "break-in"... Not sure why anyone else would be any different.

Just use the saw "nomally" (no long/hot abuse for a few tanks).

Military guys.... create acronyms for everything... (It's 'cos they can't type):hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

However... with text messsaging they are back on a roll... ;)

That term has been used by tree guys for awhile AFAIK. Especially during removals. IMHO.

What's an acronym?;)

What he said.
The idea that synthetics hinder break-in is a old wives tale propagated by hack Scamsoil salesmen.

ive always ran the 50:1 stihl oil mix in my saws right from the dealer never broke any of them in bring them home and start cuttin, never had any problems so far.
