Somebody came in to my HOA and bid $1,000 per day for tree work. I figure 2 guys per day @ $1,000 is the cheap end, but if you have volume it's ok. I know some people will go 2 guys, bucket truck and chipper for that... if they don't want to climb... whatever. Friend of mine and I are BS'ing, he knows the guy... it's not 2 guys... it's 4 guys, bucket, chipper, and 2 chip trucks. Says the guy can run the crew for $600 per day. That's just slightly more than I need to run my 2 man crew per day without a bucket. I know how it can be done, but how can they do it?

I would be curious to know if their workers were legal, and if he has workmen comp. or liability ins. And were he is dumping.

My curiosity as well. Around here day laborers get about $100 cash and are hired right off of the street.

maybe supplying his workers with crystal meth?

Ditto the comments about insurance, workers comp and dump site. Some guys just plain don'y understand their costs though, and think that what they have in their pocket at the end of each day is what they made.

Wish he was in Aus, I could sell all my gear, sub out all my work to this guy and retire off the profit ;-)

Spam ? You guys got Spam? That would have been a treat for me in my early days. I can still remember one whole week on a jar of peanut butter and a box of crackers.
