i just wandered what you all thought of the 2 bars, green dot or yellow dot? i always used green dot bar with yellow non safety chain.....is this wrong? wandered cause i just bought new bar and made me think about it...i never used the yellow dot bar? advantages in yellow dot bar? or? thanks

The green dot bar, combined with a green chain meet the standards for low kickback usage. You can intermix green and yellow bars and chains, but you will lose the low-kickback protection. The green bars are cheaper because they are of cheaper construction.

The nose diameter on the greens is smaller. Also the yellow is built better. If your looking for kick back protection green bar green chain is the best. Its up to you The main thing is to be safe when every cutting i have mixed the chains and have had no problems. My 660 has green chain with yellow bar. That was all they had and i needed it right then and there., It could care less about it. Just be safe

Some of the yellow bars have a wide tip. Those would be considered the least safe and are designed for longer life when plunge cutting. Most firewood cutters don't need to plunge cut.

thanks all, that makes since,i always bought cheaper one, cause i cheap, but do use yellow rs,chains whichs works well for me.......thanks again:bowdown:

Not sure why you would say that. Lot of firewood comes from cripple trees, twisty trees, leaners, standing dead, etc., bore cuts can be often safer on those.
