What's that Weight?

Does anyone know the approx. weight of a 5" caliper B&B tree, or how I can calculate the weight????

RaleighForestry, welcome to the site. Without knowing what type of tree it is, it would be hard to know. The height of the tree would also be a factor. I called Botanics Nursery in Homestead, Fl and they estimated 800-1000 pounds, for an oak tree.

That seems about right. I had spoken to one nursury and they told me about 1000 pounds, I just wanted to double check.

D=Diameter of ball
d= depth

Then you account for soil variations and moisture content....

You think so on a 5inch tree, let's see the tree would weigh, what 50-100lbs? And the ball would weigh, what 500-900lbs, good calculations.
