hi bermie, we got a fair hammering, 80mph+ winds right across the country, I think 13 deaths due to falling trees, walls etc. Over here on the East coast things didnt get quite so bad as the west coast. A lot of trees down everywhere, and many homes without power throughout the country, 1.5 days after the power went down. some awesome storm pictures on the news channels here.

Severe wind right accross the UK,trees down power out.Unfortunatly quite a few deaths.

I and most other firms are stacked with storm work, looks like we will be busy for the next month at least..

I was out until 8pm last night, bracing trees,in 70mph gusts, its amazing what you can do with a few ropes ,ratchet straps, and 6' scoffold tubes. So far all my trees have held out..

Most of the trees that have failed are poplars, and Eucs, and trees with a covering of Ivy,if the trees still had their leaves on this country would have been a disaster zone.

good summers and plenty work in the winter if your not at sea level would you complain?
of course the damage to my van door when the wind ripped it out of my hand is a bit of a neg.

Yes, the pictures on TV looked quite bad. Shocking that that many people died, did the wind come unexpectedly or was it forecast?
On the flip side a storm is good for business.
Will you guys attempt much pulling up and replanting / guying, or is the damage too severe? We do a fair bit here after Hurricanes.
