I've been a Husky guy for a quarter century. And would have "never" bought a Stihl if I hadn't joined this site 2 or 3 years ago. It seems every discussion on "the best tree saw", "best top handle saw", "most powerful..." pointed to the MS200T, so I broke down today and bought one. I only started it once, and it feels powerful. Who knows when I'll be up another tree in this cold, slushy, Michigan weather, but I must admit I'm itching to try it out. :chainsaw:

whats wrong with that picture is that you only have one good saw..... HAHA just kidding. I tried a tophandle husky once and it was very nose heavy. 200T I like better.

Time to get a saw lanyard ! ! ! You're gonna like that MS200T:greenchainsaw:

feedback appreciated

The top handle Husky in the pic is a 338xpt. I do have a bungee lanyard, but the saw bounces around when I'm climbing. And I've just never gotten used to clipping my climbing saw to my saddle. I believe both Husky and Stihl 2cycle oil are a 50:1 mix, if I'm not mistaken.

Husky vs. stihl

I can tell you this. I ran crews in northern arizona clear cutting juniper for A.Z.G.F. for 3 years .Usually 8 man crew. each saw ran approximately 7-8 hours a day 4 days a week . The husky 360's and 372's would seize ( or other expensive repair jobs putting them out of commision) after about 9 months of use. LOTS of field maintenance .
While Stihl 440's would run a solid 13 months same amount of hours put on. For a ground saw I was convinced.
Also would have to clean carbs weekly on the huskys , and had huge issue with worm gears on oilers. While the Stihls carbs only needed a normal monthly cleaning, and only oddball issues not the same constant problems. Mainly depending on the sawyer.

So i vote Stihl...

WHATS WRONG!!!! all the huskys are jealous and will soon be replaced with a real tree saw. YOU JUST LEARNED THE HARD WAY POPEYE:deadhorse:

I thought that was Poopdeck Pappy...

Funny WLL. I've had good luck with most Huskies and also have high hopes for the 200t.

you will need good luck with all them huskys. looks like popeye got some spinach lol

your going to like that saw treetom. pop out the baffle and spark aresster and richen it up a C hair and it'll be rippppping.

also give a composite lite bar a shot. lightens the saw up and is a very forgiving bar.

i got one on mine homey.

solid line up for your saws. similar to mine. just added one though. lol

Gr8Scott72, thanks for the link. I've read quite a few posts on the 200t but never heard the carb complaints, as well as some of the others. Must be those recent Chinese "innovations." Time to take 'er out and cut some wood and see what's up. Old Dirty, I will pull the spark screen and tweak the carb, but I'm not sure what the "baffle" refers to. Nice 066 by the way.

I like red-headed step children. But, there's nothing wrong with that little white baby.....

Sorry, I couldn't resist. :buttkick:

Funny, I have one as well, its the only white kid in the orange and red crowd. One of the best Stihls made, however, after having run saws professionally for so long now, Husky and J-Red still rule on the ground.

not sure if its right or not but i am referering to the thing holding the spark arrestor when i say baffle. you'll see what i mean when you pull it. lol.
