Just got off Manges site..and a posting their brought up the thought...whats the ultimate saw.

1: titanium Twin..smooth and sounds great, rotory would be better, smoother and even more of a growl..and they flip over easy
2: 200cc or more..for the torque..need a backpac fuel tank though
3: variable gearing..dialup for torque or rpm setting
4: remote electric start..like the aero modellers use with a motorcycle battery
5: rear ducted hot air..for outdoors heating and warm hands
6: power assited forearms & shoulders,
7: on demand...Masseuse for the aches and pains this beast is going to inflict

An updated MS260 from Stihl.......

.....with a better antivibe, same weight or less, a bigger airbox with a real air filter and...... the option of purchasing a $100 bolt on performance kit which would give it 5-10 % more power than the MS361.

I think a twin cylinder 066 mag with a super charger run the belt off the clutch. I think that would be awesome maybe with a 10 in bar to cut some cookies.

Steve here... How bout an 090av that weighs 15lbs and has heated handles...
You're thinking WICKED hardware. how about a 15LB 090 with twin 137CC cylinders and a turbo? that would be WICKED .

Don't forget the NOS...too

Indeed, but the saw has to somehow pull the NOS out of the air so it doesn't need to have a bottle on it.

/Now we're dreaming

If memory serves me...The little NOS bottle was called Sneaky Pete... maybe and inch is in diameter and 6 or 7 inches long... I could be wrong, that goes back twenty years or more
Steve

Internal combustion?
7hp
7lbs
auto-start
proximity sensors in the operator's PPE tell saw when to instant stop for safety

Alternative technology?
Laser cutting beam (or another energy emission, non-traditional cutting technology)
Beam length/density easily adjustable from 12" to 36" cut
9lbs

BTW, I don't know anything about this stuff....would such energy emissive cutting just set the wood on fire?

8: imbedded lights to work in dark hours
9: signal lights for safety when doing roadside work
10: top seat for a short brake so a hot butt is for sure in winter
11: folding blade for easy storage
12: special shaped/guided exhaust gas stream so sawchips are blown much further away in the right way so no clogging up the clutchcap.
13: in-blade hydrolic jack so no wedges are needed
14: when top seat becomes available also some wheels, drive and steer to ride to the tree
15: towhook to get the other gear in
16: easy wrench free clip on system for all kinda stuff to power
17: timer to shut automatically at lunch time or signal after siesta to awake.
18: build in water heater for some coffee or tea on the spot
19: baking plate bigger as that exhaust for some eggs and pancakes
20: fingerprint safety so only me can use my beloved MS200T

any more?

KX500 does a better job..tried starting one them..can kickback something terrible..water cooled connected to a cooling hose..bit like an electric car extention lead..mmm...radiator on the back - theres your heating for the cold weather.

The laser (light saber) idea has merrit..look out Luke..zzZZzzzZZz..doesn't stir my blood though.

Sachs rotory saw was sooo smooth and sounds like a bear humming..soul stirring..60cc KMS output in 78 was on parr with a 70cc now
