Probably help to narrow it down some. Is this in addition to another main heat source, or is this going to be the main heat source ? How important is pretty compared to functional going to be? Estimated maximum budget? Approximate total square footage to be heated?
What size is your house and especially what size is your living room? I clean chimneys in Northern Vermont so I have seen and critiqued quite a few. I am pretty fond of Jotuls but there are some other good setups out there. A lot of factors to consider so please lay out the whole scenario. existing chimney size, size of the wood you want to handle, hearth footprint, etc.
Generally city gas is in expensive so it sounds like this is more of an ambient setup. The Jotul #3 was originally created for fireplaces, so is generally a good size, but you can go up or down a size depending on your aesthetic preference and adjust your burning style to acomodate. generally smaller stove working harder will keep the creosote down but either way, get a liner installed to simplify your life. I have seen many stubbed into the fireplace smoke shelf resulting in a creosote mess.
If you are putting the stove on an existing flue there is a guideline for the volume ratio(cross section of chimney vs cross section of stove outlet). Exterior chimneys the flue size needs to be 2 to 1 or smaller, Interior chimneys 3 to 1. Almost all new stoves come with a 6" round outlet(28 sq inch)
