Not me, But I brought home 50Ft crank up antenna tower on my compact car just like that, Had the smashed roof to prove it

Craziest thing I had ever seen was these spanish guys, used a old Station wagon auto and cut out the roof ( not neatly) and brought home a full sized refrigerator standing upright.

I've always heard that you'll mess up a fridge hauling it on its side. So that's how I do mine. Nothing wrong with turning an old station wagon into a pickup truck.

That's right...it's the oil in the compressor/coil/coolant system. You can haul one as a last resort on its side, but when you get it where it's going and upright, let it stand for a few hours, let gravity do its thing with the compressor oil, prior to plugging it in.

I suppose your right...I guess an option would've been do away with the seatbelt theory and use a ratchet tie down across the underside of the roof...but probably didn't wanna damage the upholstery lining. Lol :dumb:
I figured the ratchet strap he found on the road side where it broke and fell off of a truck was too short to reach with out the seat belts!

I helped a friend of mine strap on and haul a console job old TV, big honker, on the back of his suzy q 500 titan bike. Dang funny but it worked! He was about straddling the front forks, no idea how he reached the shifter with his foot, looked like a contortionist.

as usmc615 said, you don't really mess it up...but when you stand it upright,, don't plug it in for at least 24 hrs.. the oil has to drain back to the compressor....AND, it CAN take that long.....

...after re-reading my post, must've been Bud Light made me say a 'few' hours. Oly is correct, best to let it sit upright a good 24 hrs. Now, back to the Bud Light, lol.
