Which Stihl parts can be swaped between 044 and 046?

By rear handle do you mean tank? If so - yes, but you need to swap over the carb mount studs (length different). Muffler etc all fits. Probably need to swap out a jet in the carb if you care about the "1 turn out" calibration.

Awesome information, thanks Lake!
And yes, I was talking about the fuel tank assembly. I took some rough measurements of the tank on an 066 and it didn't look like it would fit an o46, but I also have one from an o44, so that should work.
I have a bunch of parts, I'd like to make a good saw or two, and then the rest I hope I can sell to people that need them, or keep for parts. It's good to know what will fit where.
I'd like to add, that if you're not a rich man, you should be. With your wealth of knowledge and practical experience, you are hands down the best resource Stihl has.
Darin and/or Stihl should be paying you to post on this site.

Another question, my Red Light o66 doesn't light, is there a common problem?

Thanks for the kind words..

066 light - I guess it must be 'cos I almost never find one that works and no one cares enough for me to fix it. I'd look at the wiring harness carefully, and the light itself.

Anyone else have any experiences to share with getting the light to work?

Glad to see you on line Lake
