I have a whisper chipper circa 1963, runs great, but when i went to start it this year the governor compressor broke off its mount. I did some custom welding and had to take it apart. My question is does anyone know how much oil is supposed to be inside of it. Or if it is oil, it was kind of heavy almost felt like tranny fluid. Any help would be awesome or if someone knew where to get a used part for it. The one picture doesn't show the reweld, but some spot welding was done.

Hoof products were taken over by company in Indiana. do not have notes here but found link on google and likely still there.
Some said oil was supposed to be constant viscosity, like transmission fluid. I used 20W hydraulic oil and worked fine. there is a bolt on top for filler, and a bolt on side for oil level.
