Just wondering who all mods their saws on here (climbers).

I never have because I haven't wanted to void my warranty on my new saws plus I get the feeling they wouldn't last as long if I modded them. To tell the truth my 200 runs hot enough for me but I have to admit I am curious what it would do with the little muffler mod I have read about. I already riched it up a little bit. I am curious what I can get out of the 192 as well. None of my saws are no longer under warranty so I don't have to worry about voiding it.

Are the mods worth the gain?

From what I've read the muffler mods really work only on the larger saws. Not sure if you would get anything out of doing one on a 192 or a 200.

My 192 has the spark scrren removed and the muffler jacked open a little bit. With a proper tuning it rips pretty good. Worth the effort IMHO. My 200 has the standard mod of removing the spark screen. It runs without a cylinder base gasket as well. I think a 200 w/ spark screen removed, rips good enough. Plus, ya have to tear just about the entire saw apart to do much on them LOL.

Yeah, that's what I have been reading. I think I might give it a shot this week and see how it does.

Both my 200t's have the muffler mod and I love em.It's worth it.Had a couple 192's with muffler mods and it was mediocre at best.

Thanks for the input all. What I really meant was climbing saws. I'm open to comments from all. I'm not really interested in modding my larger saws but would like to see what I can get out of my climbing saws. Not so sure I'd want to mod a brand new saw but my saws are getting a little age on them.

I've taken out the muffler spark screens on both of my MS200T's. That's all I plan on doing. I've modded the mufflers on all of my other saws.....036.....460M.....066.....and I've got a Snellerized 3120.

The MS200 is a quite powerful saw for it's size already and I don't plan on ever having any engine or muffler mods done on them.

That's all I plan on doing is taking out the spark arresters on my climbing saws.

I don't plan to mod my larger saws. Not that I wouldn't like to but my ground saws get used by my ground men and I don't want to do anything to alter the stock saw or make it run hotter for safety reasons. They run fast enough as it is. If, god forbid, anything did happen to one of my guys while running one of my saws I wouldn't want it to possibly be on account of something I did to alter the saw. That might also add another dimension to the liability as far as the law goes but it's not even about that for me. It's about keeping my guys in one piece.
