This was a project last weekend. Some 2x4 tubing and a 2000 lb winch from harbor freight and I can pull wood out from places I couldn't get to before or had to carry too far.So far it works pretty good.

Nice idea! Keeps the log from digging in.A Minnie version of a farm arm or at least that's what we call them up here. That you would mount in the back of a pick up

Looks good! Kinda like a mini cable skidder.

Russ,

Have you got a better pic of how you have that attached at the hitch? My quad, 07 Suzuki Eiger, doesn't have a drawbar just fixed hitch. Also, did you have to counterbalance the quad to keep the front end down? Nice looking set up. I have been dragging some up out of a ravine with log chain. Not real effective and adds to the weight when front of the logs digs in.

Welded a 1" bolt inside the tubing, the only thing I need to change is I made a solid mount at the top and attached it to the grab bar/rack mount.locking my rear suspension,OOps.I've got to make a sliding mount there around the vertical for up and down movement but stop side to side. Also I want to lower it down over all to change the leverage it has to help keep the front end down.I've just been putting a heavy length of log on the front rack.It works pretty good and is fun zipping around like a little skidder!:)
