I bought a Windsor Speed Tip bar a couple months ago for large mount husky's. When I mounted it on my 372, it seems as though the oil hole on the outter side doesnt line up, and oil freely runs out of it. Has anyone else had this problem? I looked at the Windsor application guide, and it is the right bar for the large mount Husky's.

Hello,

Thats weird I have not had this problem with the Speedtips I run on my 385XP the holes line up great..Maybe you just got a bad bar probably the graveyard shift or something..

Rob.

Hi Weatherby, I have purchased two windsor bars and havn't had any trouble with the bars. I did have some shipping problems, but after contacting windsor it was corrected immediatly. I would call windsor or e-mail them with your question about the bar. I'm sure they will have the answer. I have noticed some companies trying to make a one bar fits all philosopy. I hope it's just a simple mistake with your bar, I was planning on buying more windsor products. Please let us know what ya find out. Good Luck the Hoosier!!

if ya don't have there www. here it is!!

Sharpen your chain it's a jungle out there!!!

This saw has the same bar mount as the 372 I believe, and I have not had a problem. It wont fit on my 920 though:mad:

The bar has two mounting holes and I tried both of them, and still had the same problem. I didnt try it on my 394, ill give that a shot this weekend.

Hello,
Just commenting on the windsor bars, the guide bar is as durable as any bar I have used. I really like the bars and for the price they are hard to beat but I have had problems with the sproket's breaking. I mean it's not as if I didn't get my money's worth. Around 70-80 thousand feet they would fly apart usually in the stump and that can sometimes make it difficult to get the chain out without going after another saw. For that reason I have always stuck with Oregon, But getting back to the post doesn't the windsor bars have to oiler hole's one right beside the other? maybe your just looking at the wrong hole? Anyway hope you get it figured out take care.........Wade

Yes the bar has two oil holes on each side, none of the other bars I have are like this. If the bar only had one oil hole there would be no problem.

Hi Weatherby, just a thought, but if the chain is to long it may not line up, but it sounds like your problem may me lattitudinal as opposed to longitudinal, meaning up instead of across. I had this problem with a Stihl bar mounted on a Husky with an adapter, so I just drilled the hole a bit bigger. When I mount a new chain I shorten it to the minimum drivers, even if it means mounting the bar, sprocket and chain as one unit.
Hope this helps.
John

Weatherby, you refer to oil holes on the, "outer side".

Three ???'s.

?. Does that mean, when the bar is on the saw, you can two oil holes on the top outside of the bar?

??. Are only 4 oil holes??
Two--on the top on one side, and two on the bottom of the opposite side.

???. How many drive links in the loop???

If a, "Yes', to the first question, then the bar was incorrectly drilled thru.

If a, "Yes", to the second question, bar should be ok.
