Have any of you converted a natural draft
wood and coal boiler to forced draft?
I have 2 ungasketed loading doors and an ash pit door
and the doors and thimble connection would
have to be replaced.
I would probably have to buy 3 new custom doors with weldments
for the hinges and use the ash pit door for the squirrel cage blower with the
power cable tied into the thermostat via an out let controlled by the
thermostat.
The other issue is that the wood and coal boiler is tied in physically and
electrically with the oil boiler to fire when the wood coal boiler is not up to
temperature.
The wood coal boiler is also 28 years old with no past problems at all
but it has a very low water volume of 25 gallons.
Maybe I should just go ahead and buy the evergreen wood and coal boiler
finally and fix the trench next year leaving the good $13 per foot tubing on
the ground for now.
The old boiler would have to be hydro tested again to be certified for another owner.
OOOOOOYYY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy holidays.
