Wood identification

Just wondering if anybody has any idea what kind of tree this might be? Thanks

I think it might be a type of elm, it looks exactly like some wood that I have. If you can put some more pictures someone can probably tell you for sure. The bark on the wood I have peels off like that when it’s seasoned.

I think it is hornbeam/ ironwood. After reading the reply’s and doing more research. Thanks to everyone for the reply. I have one more I would like to know. How about this one.

The first one is hornbeam. I’ll bet the second one is a young cherry.

Thanks to everyone for their input! We are cutting wood in a new woods that has more diversity and running into stuff I’ve never cut before. It’s nice to know what it is. Thanks again!
