Wood splitter modification

I have been looking at this site for a while now and finally decided to log in. I have a MTD 27 ton splitter that I am thinking of adding a log lift to. Just wondered if anyone had added a lift to a splitter similar to this one? It is a combination vertical/horizontal model. Any input would be a great help.

Personally I'd just roll the ones you don't want to lift over to the splitter while it's in vert. mode...
