I am starting to build my woodshed, it will be 12 wide and 16 long the front will be 8 ft high and the back will be 6 ft. I am also going to put in fencing to split it into 4ft bins so i will be able to get 3 cord of wood in each one. I thought that was about right because thats about all i burn a year. the wood is all black locust. what do you all think ?

TOM

P.S If i can get my son to show me how I will post some pics

If you dig a good hole it could double as an outhouse.

Nah ! I wouldnt take a dump anywhere that close to where I might be working later. :monkey:

I'm not sure about the 3 separate bins idea. The guy that loads the wood in there is soon going to recognize each type he is putting in and will know how much more seasoning it is going to need. Sorting it accordingly. I try to keep some area open for the stuff I will be burning this year. Sort of a staging area closest to the house. That way If I'm not the one bringing it in I still know which part of the stack it came from.
