I bought a link of 28RC from Baileys and when I went to file it, the box shows 80 Deg. for the side plate angle. I'm used to 90 or 10 degrees. How do I get 80?

I think what you are talking about is your file angle not side plate. A 90 side plate would cut like a butter knife and a 10 side plate is impossible to achieve.

What you are asking sounds like file angle or "tilt" of the file in relation to the side of the bar. 80 is just another way of saying 10. Like 90 is 0, 80 is 10. Complement angles.

Goat you are right, I meant file angle tilt.
My brain wasn't functioning because I was thinking they might be showing the complementary angle but I kept coming up with 20deg. For some reason I was thinking 100 deg was straight across.
I really do know better

Thanks
Dan
