3.25% ( only allowed to do "some" tree pruning) as a landscaper. for arborsits I think it is lumped with logging and its about 13.5%. Although we have had three tree worker deaths this year I bet its gonna go up again.

appx $3.00 per manhour for tree work, $1.00 per hr for pruning of trees under 12 feet and landscaping. Ground work is the same rate, determined by the job.

So, about 12% for trees and 3-5% for pruning.

Washington's gov't run system is one of the best and cheapest, go figure....

California rates are obnoxiously ridiculously high...

I can place groundsman under the landscapers title being they don't work off of the ground and there rate is around 2.50 per 100

Fortunately down in Australia where I am in Queensland we have spared ourselves from the corporate greed and I pay 1.8%

Thats $1.80 per $100 of wages .... ha ha ha, gee you're all so free ... To be ripped off. That is a flamin rort to pay 50%+

Sure, plenty of room.

The govt does the WC, it's too integral a part and cost of business and simply cannot be exploited by greedy corporations looking for billions of dollars of profits every year. The Govt runs it as a "break even" system, plus it ensures that unisured workers (due to boss being an uninsured mongrel) still get paid a benefit whilst the govt busts the idiot boss.

So, win win win, worker wins with cover, boss wins with cheap premiums and govt wins with more employment.

We even have a link on the govt website where you can check, before engaging a business, if they have WC. Click on this link and enter my ABN which is 28228546872 and bingo, I tell customers all the time to check the people out who they engage, no wc dont use them! That gets rid of some hacks.

We have an online clearance check ability here too, the client (anyone) can enter the business name and/or the principle owner and get a status of account report online in seconds. I try to use it as a sales tool (the fact that we are covered and up to date with payments) but it seems to be a secondary thing to most people around here, bottom line still seems most important.
