Hi I'm new at posting though I've been reading the threads for some time. Lots of knowledge out there for sure!

Can anyone explain the difference between Husqvarna X-TORQ, E-TECH and E-TECH II?

Niels

All marketing/EPA gimmicks. E-tech machines have a catalytic convertor muffler = run very hot and detract from performance. Steer clear of all those 'improved' machines unless you plan to defeat the emissions crap (like switching the muffler on a 359 to a 357XP non-catalytic muffler). The way to tell the difference looking at a factory Husky machine is the color of the gas cap. Green = E-tech, Black = non E-tech

Feedback here from users of the 575 is that the x-torq works...they like the power....don't like the wieght though

X-Torq refers to the newer families of stratocharged engine saws. The 455-460-570-575XP. And there are more coming. The E-Techs are as discribed above, with cat mufflers.

X-TORQ good in some cases good powered motor but very hard to modifly due to very complex engine, tend to be heavier than same size non-X-TORQ saws, and they do not respond to muffler mods well as they have low back pressure to begin with.

E-TECH and E-TECH II are bad and should be avoided at all costs.

X-torq is for the series 3XX serie cylinder port layout with 4 ports in those cylinders instead of two.

Wrong! There are lots of four port Huskys in the 300-series, but those aren't X-torques.

Right! :hmm3grin2orange:
