was ripping yellow cedar slabs today, saw suddenly stopped, chain not moving. Globs and globs of tiny hair like stringy fibers completely clogged up the chain, clutch and drum, and chip chute. Spent about 20 minutes tweezering the damn stuff out before i could even move the chain. 
It was wierd though, it was only on one spot on the log, everything else was fine, ripped it no problem, big curls of wood shooting out of the saw. Just that one little 10" spot, all fibrous and stringy mass.
What causes that ? (i was using a ripping chain too)
