Can I use my saw to cut frozen wood?

I get that. 2 link run smoother. Less gap between cross links. Heavier. More expensive. They both have their place.
I built a set (11.2x24) for my tractor this past year. Ended up making them 5 link so the overall length would come out right. Used 1/4" for the outer chain, and 5/16 for the cross links. Cut 5/16 links, split and rewelded them to join the cross links to the 1/4" chain. It was a bit of a pain, but it saved me quite a bit of cash. Used quick links to join the ends when installing on the tractor, and some cheap ratchet straps for tensioners. The've worked well so far, but I also haven't really needed them this season since its been so warm.

This off season, I'll be going back and welding some additional links to join the middle of the cross links (I think its called a Duo pattern) to keep the chain from slipping down between the AG lugs. I ran out of time this year.
