for the mecanil heads you get a remote and use the grapple open/close control combined with one of 3 buttons on the remote to control it, maybe your hiab has a spare function?
the wood grapple would need 2 functions but would be controlled by a diverter valve off one function
BTW, looked up your grapple on the vermeer, is that a custom deal to hitch it to the skid? looks to be a mini excavator grapple and wouldnt fit on a typical mini

Yes, I worked with the supplier to come with a grapple set up for the Vermeer. Had to do this with the other attachments, to over engineer them up a little, as found the machine was just buckling standard buckets, rakes etc. First rotating grapple I had lasted a couple of years of a lighter machine, broke apart in first fortnight on the Vermeer.

Started the week with a ‘little old lady’ job in pouring rain. Had to cancel a job with heavy rain the next day. Truck security system started playing up in the wet & refused to get out of the cab.

At least the dust in on hold.

Couple days at a beachfront church group site. Small & decent size trees, pleasant right on the ocean, much more benign than our usual high energy coastline, significant coastal recession issues.

Stumpgrinder threw an electrical gremlin with the operator presence / clutch set-up, back to dealer next week for warranty work. Annoyingly couldn’t complete the job, with couple of stumps left.

Like the three leg pick.

That log trailer with bolsters in the background on the single cab ute, like that set up.

What can is the payload on that? And the crane / landing arm, what sort of capacity does that have?

Crane is a national 800c 23.5 ton crane
That log trailer has a 19ft arm and at 19ft out will pick 1800# 8-10k it will haul
Few more picks from today so glad the bucket access was there also so much easier if you can work out of the bucket. That job there was a treat with the access. Stay safe all

It's nice unit that log trailer. But wouldn't take long to hit 10K (4.5 tonne)?

No depending on the wood species it adds up quick. It’s got two 7k axels trailer weights 2700# I believe so you could push it to 11/12k payload if needed. At that point I might as well call a log truck, but that trailer is for residential work and that’s exactly where it shines.
