One of my customers told me my saw was the loudest saw he have ever heard. Now this saw is a Dozer Dan 346od. It just has a small hole in the front of the muffler. I don't think it's all that lould it's a small saw!
Reminds me back when you could tell what car or truck started up by the sound of its starter, unless someone started up one with an air starter, those sounded sweet.

041 has such a cool sound. I fire mine up every so often just to hear it idle.
A Vincent Black Lightning at speed on the Salt Flats......no other sounds around.....dead silence and then it comes on. Passes in a flash at redline.

Ok I know we're getting off subject some but I have the sound to beat all sounds. Nothing sounds like three Allison aircraft engines full song on a 6500# open class pulling tractor at about the 175' mark with the front end about a foot up.

The smooth lopey idle of a Ford 460
I had a mac 10-10 for a minute, between the sound and vibes rattling the fillings in my teeth I won't ever forget one of those.
Saws with cat exhausts at idle have a note that stands out that I like. Like velvet.
A dual ported ms460 sounds so angry "on the pipe".

A guy at work wrenches for his Wife’s twin Allison Pulling Tractor........he has a chainsaw...
Nothing like a Honda 6 GP on the back stretch, sounds good when revving up also.
