Beautiful new saw Brother!

Have ya run it yet? It looks WAY too clean!

Mine is an older model...cast muffler...but i ported it A LOT
Snelling ported the cylinder, and it has now an unlimited (088) coil. Monster Horsepower. If yer using it for work, that's the best set-up i could recommend...in stock form they just run too slow.

Have fun and Saw Safe! :msp_thumbsup:

Have not even started it yet haven't had time, like you I would like to get that chain turning faster after I play a bit looking to have some work done. This weekend I got a big old oak log I'm going to burry it in.

They've been coming like that for a little while. That's the updates from last year or late 2009. There's a thread about it an aussie did back sometime. Might have been called 881?

Has anyone confirmed whether or not a 088 coil can be used on these? I thought I had heard they could not be. That would be a deal breaker for me. They are rev limited WAY too low, even when stock. It's like trying to run an old 090 with the wind vane governor kicking in.

I love saw pics! I know, I'm weird. Hey Beer Gut, post up some full size pics of that new beast.

pretty shore down here in OZ ,the new stock 880's (non epa) are coil limited to 12500rpm ...I imagine the Aussie 880 is exactly the same at the states, but without The EPA crap ... just get a coil from Oz and and swap out ....I'm shore one of me fellow Aussie boys will know for shore. cheers

I realize that the new 880 has a different coil, but am wondering if the bolt pattern has been changed, and if the new flywheel will work with the 088 coil. The original 880 coil was different from the 088 coil in that it was rev limited. They were a direct replacement though. Might even be able to swap out the coil on the metal core even if the bolt pattern is different.

I don't have a coil to match up or try unless a 660 coil would be the same. If a 660 coil would be the same as an older 088 unlimited I could see if it will bolt up. Guessing its not though..

get a good deal? or retail?

Retail payed 1,750.00 36" bar & chain, case of oil, a 3/8 sprocket in case I want to switch, and bar scabbard all with deal. Asked about a trade in our classifieds for guns but the guy had a deal going already, didn't trust ebay for a saw that expensive. I'm happy with the deal.
