Just wanted to add some info on this family of saws.
I picked up this 268special not long ago and assumed it had the open transfer cylinder and kind of put it on the back burner. Finally got around to getting a new muffler (old one smashed) and was pleased to see it has the closed transfer xp style cylinder.
It’s a 1992 saw and seems to fall in between the xp and non-xp versions. I’ve seen some “specials” with and without the “xp” decals. This one has them.
